What is the MPT-PAC?
The Michigan Physical Therapy-Political Action Committee (MPT-PAC ) is a non-profit whose purpose is to educate legislators and candidates to support the profession of physical therapy by maintaining a financially strong political action committee is the best way to ensure that the physical therapy profession stays healthy and strong.
- Chair: Edward Mathis, PT, DPT
- Treasurer: Christopher Wilson, PT, DPT, GCS
- To promote the profession of physical therapy.
- Support candidates running for the Michigan State House and Senate that are sensitive to the issues that affect the profession of physical therapy.
- Educate legislators and candidates about physical therapy.
- Coordinate and facilitate district and statewide PAC fundraising activities that are necessary support these objectives.
- Distribute expenditures according to the Michigan Physical Therapy Association (MPTA) legislative goals.
- To increase growth of the MPT-PAC to maintain prestige and recognition among political candidates.
- To receive between $25-$500 from each MPTA member every calendar year.
