Acute Care and Outpatient PT Opportunities The Borgess Ambulatory Care Division (BACD), has full-time Physical Therapist positions available in it's Acute Care department, as well as in it's Outpatient setting at West Michigan Spine located at the Borgess Health and Fitness Center.

The Acute Care Dept. is located within Borgess Medical Center, (BMC). BMC is a 424 bed Level I Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center. Physical Therapists in this department are involved in treatment of patients in all critical care, neruo-ortho, general medical/surgical behavioral, and cardiac units.

Our outpatient PT department at the Fitness Center is a large department specializing in outpatient orthopedics. Many pieces of equipment are available such as weights, UBE, Air Dynes, treadmills, two warm water therapy pools, lap pool, etc. The resources of an 80,000 sq. ft. fitness facility are also available. A staff of seven PTs and six PTAs provide the programming. The outpatient PT department also has the following:

  • Aqua Therapy: Located within Borgess Health and Fitness Center in it’s own dedicated warm water 30 x 40 ft therapy pool.
  • Outpatient Neuro Rehab: Located within Borgess Health and Fitness Center provides care for the neurologically involved outpatient. A separate specialized work area is utilized for these patients.
  • Physical Therapists work a daytime schedule. Work involves a diverse environment including therapy with a wide variety of neurological conditions and diagnosis. The Borgess PT department sees over 25,000 visits per year.
  • Borgess Health includes more than 132 sites of care and 67 satellite clinics in 15 southern Michigan cities, as well as eight owned or affiliated hospitals, a nursing home, ambulatory care facilities, home health care, physician practices, managed care services, a cancer center and an air ambulance service. These Health Alliance members form a health care network that offers a complete continuum of services to the 1.1 million people living in 11 counties in southwest and south-central Michigan.
