Integrating Cancer Survivorship and Rehabilitation Across the Continuum of Care

Speakers: Janet Wiechec Seidell PT, MPT, CLT (Certified Lymphedema Therapist) and Chris Wilson PT, DPT, GCS

Course Description:

This course will describe an innovative and integrated model of physical therapy as it relates to patients with cancer within the medical and wellness philosophies. It will outline opportunities that therapists can employ to proactively minimize side effects, identify therapy needs early, reduce disability and dysfunction, and promote wellness and quality of life throughout the entire continuum of the cancer journey. This program will describe the cancer rehabilitation goals, barriers to treatments, referral options, red flags and treatment recommendations in a variety of settings including outpatient, acute care and palliative
care.
Intended Audience: Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants and Students
